The painting-track for base surfaces (50) has a station containing three or more painting stages (2A,2C). These are situated one after the other from the inlet end to the outlet end of the track (1). The paint is applied by them in successive coats, without the preceding one drying, by painting heads (11,12;14-17) in each of the stages. There can be a free zone (5A) between successive stages. ADVANTAGE - Automatically provides as good paint colouring as with manual spraying.
