MOVING PICTURE SIGNAL CODING SYSTEM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a coding system with high efficiency by combining a coding symbol with a correlation in plural frame time series consecutive timewise so as to form a block and assigning a variable length code to each block. CONSTITUTION:A variable code coding section 4 arranges having correlation of coded symbols 102 between equal frame on a same position on a pattern as a set among plural N frames of coded symbols 102 stored in a storage section 2 and allocates a variable length code generated based on the generation probability in the lump to obtain variable length coding data 105. When the variable length code is assigned to N frames of coded symbols 103, a storage write control section 3 is operated to be overwritten by the coded symbol 102 of a succeeding frame to the content of the storage section 2. Thus, the redundancy between frames of the coded symbols is suppressed and the coding with excellent efficiency is obtained.
