摘要 |
<p>PURPOSE:To measure jitter accurately even to a high speed timing signal by using a spectrum analyzer so as to obtain a relative power difference between a clock component and a jitter component within a prescribed band width. CONSTITUTION:This measuring method is provided with a pulse pattern generator 1, a synthesizer 2 supplying a clock signal to the pulse pattern generator 1, a spectrum analyzer 6 and a computer 7. Then the spectrum analyzer 6 is used to obtain a difference An between the power of the clock component and power of the jitter component measured at a frequency band width A by the measuring instrument and the power spectrum density PHI ((degree)<2>/Hz) is calculated by using equation 1, and the power of jitter is obtained by integrating it at a frequency range to calculate the effective value of the root of power. Since the relative power difference is obtained in this way, the effect of a display error of the spectrum analyzer is excluded and jitter is measured with high accuracy even to a timing signal at a high speed in which jitter is spread over a wide band.</p> |
