PURPOSE: To eliminate a manual regulation from a relative printer position to a sensor by printing a head edge of an initial character of data to be printed on a document at a designated distance from a reference edge of the document when passing the document via a printer station. CONSTITUTION: A document E is removed from a printer station, and a distance between a reference value E1 and a head edge F1 of a character F is visually observed. Normally, a field engineer compares a position of the edge F1 of the character E with a desired position from the edge E1 indicated by a distance D2. Then, he manually alters a relative position between the sensor B and a type wheel C to calibrate so that a printer is moved to a position to meet the distance D3, but when another document E is passed and moved at the distance D1 by the sensor B, a type wheel is operated to print initial data character. The head edge of the initial character is printed from the distance D2. |
