Positioner which makes it possible to standardize the measurement and analysis procedures used in industrial and medical applications, environmental control and nuclear installations. The assembly incorporates an interchangeable sample- holder head, with combined X Y Z movement and also having means for levelling and for varying positions, guaranteeing an uncertainty of less than 0.1 mm on any axis. On the basis of the structural and design characteristics, it is also possible to determine the stability of the response and also the anisotropy at short distances, and to evaluate the volume efficiency of large samples. <IMAGE>
