PURPOSE:To set a stable printing timing with a minimum shift without especially using a tester by a method wherein a timing adjusting printing pattern for a printing part is outputted, shifts of a printing position in forward/reverse directions are detected, and the printing output timing of the printing part is corrected. CONSTITUTION:A printing timing correction control part 2 comprises a printing timing control circuit 2A controlling the drive of a printing part 10, an adjusting printing pattern generation circuit 28 outputting a printing pattern for adjusting a printing timing, and a positional shift detection and correction circuit 2C detecting the positional shift of the printing pattern on the basis of information transmitted from an image scanner part 3 and outputting a timing correction signal. In this manner, the printing timing correction control part 2 can effectively exhibit an adjusting pattern output function of outputting a timing adjusting printing pattern for the printing part 10 to the external and a printing timing correction function of correcting the printing output timing of the printing part only by detecting once the positional shifts of the printing position in forward/reverse directions. |
