PURPOSE:To improve the conjoined condition of an electrode and each a of solid-state electrolytes so as to obtain an electrochemical device of high reliability by attaching fibres each formed of the solid-state electrolytes to the surface of a solid-state electrolytic film. CONSTITUTION:Materials used are a solid-state electrolytic film 1 formed through a tape-casting process, using YSZ(yttria-stabilized zirconia) powder, and solid-state electrolytic fibres 2 each comprising the YSZ powder embedded in the surface of the solid-state electrolytic film. The film 1 having the solid- state electrolytic fibres 2 embedded therein is formed by uniformly applying a solution having the solid-state electrolytic fibres 2 dispersed therein on the preformed unbaked solid-state electrolytic film 1, pressing the film in the nearly dried condition and subsequently baking the film. In this case, the fibres 2 each formed of solid-state electrolytes present on the surface of the solid-state electrolytic film 1 may be set in such a condition as to be bitten into an electrode. These processes can obtain a high-reliability electrochemical device having its strong resistance even against thermal shock, etc., and the maintenance of its condition stabilizing the conjoined interface between each of the solid-state electrolytes and the electrode. |
