The device for combined recording and reading of information, comprises feeding means (21) for feeding edit data denoting passages of information recorded on a record carrier (1) of which reproduction is undesirable as a result, for example, of possibly erroneously effected recordings. These edit data are recorded as a Skip Table, so that the device can read the table prior to reading the recorded information. During recording, the passages indicated by the Skip Table are omitted.
