The upswinging garage door has a bottom edge travelling upwards on opening and thus not swinging towards the outside and with rollers working in vertical guide rails. Other rollers at the top end work in horizontal rails. Opening is aided by tension springs, particularly coil-type, acting between fixed points in the garage and the door bottom edge. The vertical and horizontal rails are separate from each other, the former (7) ending at the top in 90 deg. bends (8) extending towards the inside, while the latter (9) end above the bends near the door frame (2). Both with the door (3) open and shut the springs act on a line from the attachment point to it sloping towards the garage interior.
