PURPOSE:To ensure recording with high density and at the same time to obtain effectively the signal reproduction output during reproduction at varying speeds, by having an overlap of side edge parts of adjacent slant recording tracks which are formed on a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:In an ordinary recording mode, a control signal N is produced from an action control part 13 and supplied to the control edge of a recording signal supply switch 3. Thus the switch 3 is kept on. In a normal reproduction mode, only record/reproduction changeover switches 4 and 5 are switched from the recording mode. In the case of a reproduction of varying speeds such as a slow reproduction, a frame feed reproduction, etc., the same operation as the normal reproduction is carried out. In this case, the 2nd changeover switch 10 is switched to connect the 3rd rotary magnetic head part a' to a movable contact of the switch 5. A control signal IN is set at H level in a period when the insert recording should be carried out and then set at L level in other periods. |
