PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of offensive odor at the time of melting a toner and fixing a toner image by incorporating a specified compound and an oxidant in the toner. CONSTITUTION:The toner contains the compound selected from the alkaline earth metal peroxides, quinones, such as quinone, methylquinone, or di- or trihydroxybenzene, preferably, such as pyrocatechine, pyrocatechine-violet, or pyrogallol, and the oxidant, preferably, such as cupric sulfate, ferric sulfate, or ferric chloride. These additives serve as the deodorant at the time of fixing, and even a slight amount of alkaline earth metal peroxide can exhibit the effect, and as the useful peroxides, Mg, Ba, and Ca peroxides and the like are used, and a combination of the quinone, di- or tri-hydroxybenzene and the peroxide has a deodorant effect for reacting and adsorbing the offensive odor occurring at the time of fixing. |
