PURPOSE:To increase vertical resolution on a screen where there is a little noise and decrease noises on a screen where there is much noise by employing scanning line interpolation on a 1-field or 1H memory for the screen which has a little noise and performing scanning interpolation by using a means value for the screen with much noise. CONSTITUTION:An adder adds the outputs of a delay device 102 and a storage device 105 adaptively according to the quantity of motion of a television video, an adder 2 adds the current signal and the output of the adder 1 at a rate K, and an adder 3 adds the current signal to the output of the adder 1 at a rate (1-K). Then an interpolating circuit 113 performs scanning line interpolation with the outputs of the adders 2 and 3 and a coefficient controller 19 controls the rate K of the addition by the adders 2 and 3. Consequently, an image which has high vertical resolution when an electric field is intense and is small in noise quantity when weak is obtained. |
