MANUFACTURE OF FILTER ELEMENT

PURPOSE:To permit the fluid entry side of a filter element to be sealed accurately and easily by a method wherein the end faces of a plurality of cylindrical parts are covered with a sheet-like adhesive agent and this adhesive agent is melted to seal portions between a plurality of the cylindrical parts. CONSTITUTION:A number of cylindrical parts consisting of filter mediums 1 and 2 and having a nearly circular cross section are axially juxtaposed and the cylindrical configuration having a large inner area of the cylindrical part than the area defined between a plurality of the cylindrical parts is formed. The end faces of fluid entry openings of a plurality of the cylindrical parts are covered with a sheet-like thermoplastic adhesive agent 7. This adhesive agent 7 is melted to seal portions between a plurality of the cylindrical parts. In this way the fluid entry side of a filter element E can be sealed accurately and easily.
