摘要 PURPOSE:To improve controlling characteristics and to reduce the size of an optical pickup by making current flow into an elastic supporting member of a lens barrel in the diameter direction, winding a coil around the lens barrel to form a gap of magnetic flux crossing the supporting member and the coil, and adjusting focus and tracking. CONSTITUTION:When a current is made to flow into the supporting member 14 in the direction shown by I1, electromagnetic force is applied in an X-X direction between the magnetic flux components of gaps in tracking magnetic circuits 15, 15', so that the supporting member 14 is elastically displaced in the X-X axis direction. Consequently, the lens center of a diaphragm lens 4' is moved to control the tracking. If a current is made to flow into a focus coil 9, electromagnetic force is generated in the Z-Z axis direction in the gap magnetic flux of a focusing magnetic circuit 13 and the supporting member 14 is moved in the Z-Z axis direction to control the focusing. Consequently, the moment due to the tracking driving force is not generated in the lens barrel 6' and the force direction coincides with the displacement direction so that unrequired displacement is not generated and proper controlling characteristics are obtained.
