PURPOSE:To obtain a rapidly processable photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity, superior gradation and satisfactory reciprocity law characteristics by using a specified high density silver chloride emulsion as the silver halide emulsion of an emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:A high silver chloride emulsion having >=95mol% silver chloride content is used as the silver halide emulsion of an emulsion layer. In the emulsion, each of particles corresponding to >=30% of the number of weight of all the silver halide particles has one twin face in the crystal, the crystal faces of the surfaces of the particles are principally (100) faces and a phase having a relatively high density silver bromide content has been locally formed at parts at which the twin face and the surface of each of the particles cross. A rapidly processable photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity and superior image quality such as tone reproducibility is obtd.
