PURPOSE:To hold secret for an identification number of a portable medium by inputting the identification number to a settlement of accounts processor to which required information concerning purchased merchandise is inputted, setting the portable medium in a possible state for the settlement of accounts and executing a settlement of accounts processing. CONSTITUTION:An IC card 1 is equipped with a keyboard 5 and a liquid crystal display (LCD) 7 to display the information. A staff inputs the information con cerning the purchased merchandise through an information input part 9 of a POS terminal 3 and on the other hand, during the input operation, a customer inputs the personal identification number from the keyboard 5 of the IC card 1 while confirming the identification number on the LCD 7. Then, identity confir mation is executed. Next, when the staff inserts the IC card 1, which is received from the customer in trust, to a read/write part 11, card information is read and credit shopping information is written into the IC card 1. Then, the processing is finished. Thus, without danger the identification number is known by the other person, the customer can execute credit shopping at ease. |
