PURPOSE:To easily give a musical tone an expression by tonguing by providing a transmission type photosensor so that its optical axis crosses a suction opening and controlling a musical tone according to variation in the detected value of the sensor. CONSTITUTION:The suction opening 2 is formed at the mousepiece part 1 of the electronic wind instrument and the transmission type photosensor 7 is provided so that its optical axis crosses the suction opening. Then when a tongue tip touches the suction opening for tonguing, the tongue tip cuts off the optical axis of the photosensor 7 and then the tonguing can securely be detected. Further, the optical axis has certain width, so the time from a completely ON state of a completely off state, or intermediate value, etc., is detected to detect the sharpness of the tonguing. The detected tonguing data is used to generate a musical tone. Consequently, the rising speed and attack part level of the musical tone can be controlled as a player intends, and a musical tone which is close to a natural sound can be generated by varying the timbre according to the way of tonguing. |
