The ignition units (2), each incorporating an ignition coil and a sparking plug connector, are fitted into the spaces between steps (19) on adjacent partitions (12) which subdivide the region between the end walls (10) of the camshaft covers. The edges (22) of adjacent units (2) are held down by the ends of double-or single- ended spring clips (17,18) secured to the tops of the partitions (12) by screws (16) having an upper threaded section (36) and a lower hexagonal section (34). ADVANTAGE - Ignition units are easily removable after slackening of the screws enabling clips to be turned through 90 deg.
