Adhesive consists of an aq. soln. or dispersion of a polyurethane, contg. 2-200 milliequiv./100g solid of chemically bound carboxylate and/or sulphonate gps., which is based on (a) organic diisocyanates, (b) organic di-OH cpds. with mol. wt. 400-1000, (c) 0-40 equiv.-% w.r.t. (b)+(c), of polyols and/or amino-alcohols with mol. wt. 62-399 and (d) amine- or hydrazine-type chain extenders with mol. wt. 32-400. The novel features are that (a) are mixts. of at least 2 (cyclo)aliphatic diisocynates, each in an amt. of min. 10 mole-% w.r.t. the total diisocyanates; and (b) are polyester-diols based on adipic acid and tetramethylene diol and/or hexamethylene diol.
