PURPOSE:To dissolve the drop of voltage in the initial stage of discharge and omit the preliminary water removing step to a negative electrode by water repellency by using a negative electrode using an alkali metal as an active material, a nonaqueous organic electrolyte, and pitch fluoride as at least a part of a positive electrode active material. CONSTITUTION:Alkali metals such as Li, Na and K are used as a negative electrode electrolyte as ever, and propylene carbonates as a nonaqueous organic electrolyte. To use pitch fluoride and a mixture of graphite fluoride with pitch fluoride are used as the positive electrode material of an organic electrolyte battery, conductive materials such as acetylene black, expanding graphite, and carbon black are properly mixed with binders such as polyethylene and polytetrafluoroethylene and molded. Hence, the drop of voltage in the initial stage of discharge peculiar to batteries having graphite fluoride as the positive electrode active materials, and moisture affecting the negative electrode can be preliminarily removed by the water repellency of pitch fluoride. |
