PURPOSE:To decrease a distance between mutually corresponding orifice, then make the overall size of a recording head compact and improve the operating simplicity of cartridges when replaced by constituting a light color ink cartridge and a thick color ink cartridge in a single piece. CONSTITUTION:A light color ink 5 and a thick color ink 6 are integrated into a single piece using a slide assembly technique (trapezoidal recessed part 20 on the tank 5 side and trapezoidal projecting part 21 on the tank 6 side). Then each 128 pieces of an orifice for thick color ink discharge 2A and an orifice for light color ink discharge 2B are aligned in a subscan direction as discharge orifices on the mentioned integrated ink tanks 5, 6. In addition, an integrally formed recording head 20 is mounted. Furthermore, each supply path from a common liquid chamber and an ink tank is provided independently for each thick and light color inks. Under this constitution, a distance(d) between the corresponding orifices for different color inks can be shortened in a main scan direction, and a recording head cartridge itself can be made compact. In addition, irregularities in the distance(d) which generate due to the replacement of cartridges can be limited in the range of manufacturing tolerance. |
