A flexible ink tube (1) in a trough-shaped container (3) is covered with a movable pressure plate (16) to which force can be applied with a one-armed lever (7) having a prismatic projection (10). The lever (7) is provided at its hinged end (8) with a pair of contact springs (11) and a setting screw (13). The free end (14) of the lever (7) projects beyond the plane of the front end of the container (3) so that its position can be seen from outside the wall (16) of the appts. to indicate the amt. of ink remaining to be expelled from the tube (1).
