<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the reproducibility and oxidation resistance of a coating type magnetic layer contg. herxagonal ferrite particles and binder and to increase a reproduced output by providing the above-mentioned magnetic layer on a substrate at a specified thickness and specifying the Kerr rotation angle and reflectivity thereof. CONSTITUTION:The magneto-optical recording medium is formed by forming the coating type magnetic layer 2 contg. the herxagonal ferrite particles and the binder on the transparent substrate 1 and forming a reflecting layer 3 of light on the magnetic layer 2. The magnetic layer 2 is formed to <=0.5mum thickness and is so formed that the Kerr rotating angle when measured with light of 830nm wavelength in the residual magnetization state after the impression of 10 kile oersted magnetic field is on the magnetic layer 2 is >=0.3 deg. and the reflectivity on the surface of the magnetic layer 2 when measured with the similar light is >=30%. The magnetic layer 2 is produced with the good reproducibility in such a manner and the oxidation resistance of the magnetic layer 2 is improved; in addition, the reproduced output is enhanced.</p> |
