The magnetic card reader for cards inserted into an access control arrangement is integrated into a unit having a memory programmable by a master card or programming card. A power output or a power and data output is used for triggering a switching function. A real time measurment arrangement with a buffer battery is also integrated into the unit. The data output is in the form of a socket to which a function memory can be attached to store the individual read processes and their times of occurrence. USE/ADVANTAGE - For use in an arrangement limiting access e.g. to authorised persons. Resistant to noise and manipulation.
