The restraint engages the helmet, together with seat belts. The restraint (34) is fitted with a load-relief tie (36) which is hinged on side to the helmet (20) or fitted accessories (25) and connects on the other side to a flexible yield anchor (40). The anchor thrusts off fixed part of the vehicle and imposes a relieving and restraining force continuously on the user's body or head. USE/ADVANTAGE - Aircraft, eg body restraint for helmet wearers using nightgoggles. Relief afforded when using ejector seat and associated goggle removal, clear of pilot ejection path.
