Composite film (I) comprises (A) film 1-1500 microns thick of polyarylene sulphide (II), opt. contg. conventional additives, fillers, and reinforcing agents; (B) film 2-3000 microns thick of another thermoplast (III). (1) Prodn. of (I) by treating (A) on surface with aprotic organic liq. at from 10 deg.C to m.pt. of (II) and, during or after this treatment, contacting (A) and (B) under pressure 1-500 bar, opt. with heating to from 10 deg.C to 10 deg.C above its m.pt. and/or glass temp. (2) Laminating shaped article of (III) with (A) by treating (A) on surface with aprotic organic liq. at from 10 deg.C to m.pt. of (II) and, during or after this treatment, contacting (A) with shaped article of (III) under pressure 1-500 bar, opt. with heating to from 10 deg.C to 10 deg.C above its m.pt. and/or glass temp. (3) Laminating shaped article of (II) with (B) by treating shaped article on surface to be laminated with aprotic organic liq. at from 10 deg.C to m.pt. of (II) and, during or after this treatment, contacting article with (B) under pressure 1-500 bar, opt. with heating to from 10 deg.C to 10 deg.C above its m.pt. and/or glass temp.
