Hood for pile to reduce damage by impact of pile driver - is made from steel plates mounted one above another
摘要
When piles are driven into the ground by a pile drum in order to construct foundations the head of the pile is covered with a hood in order to protect the head of the pile and to protect the surface of the pile driving hammer. These hoods are usually made of wood plastic hemp rope or steel cables. Such hoods are subject to rapid wear and have to be replaced at frequent intervals at great expense. The invention proposes to reduce this expense by using hood formed from steel plates mounted on above another. These steel plates reduce the severity of the impact of the hammer on the pile but have a much longer service life than that of the hoods at present in use. USE - Pile driving.
