PURPOSE:To gradation-process a necessary part optimally by determining a gradation processing condition based on the statistical property of picture data in a picture area determined by analyzing the whole data of a rediograph, and gradation processing the radiograph. CONSTITUTION:An area determining means 9 to determine the desired picture area by analyzing the whole data of the radiograph formed correspondingly to the transmission quantity of a radiant ray transmitted through each part of a subject, a gradation processing condition determining means 10 to determine a gradation processing condition based on the statistical property of the picture data in the determined picture area, and a gradation processing means 11 to gradation-process the radiograph based on the determined gradation processing condition are provided. Then, the desired picture area is determined by analyzing the whole data of the radiograph, and simultaneously, the radiograph is gradation-processed by determining the gradation processing condition from the statistical property of the picture data in the picture area. Thus, the optimum picture data in the desired picture area can be secured. |
