PURPOSE:To obtain a refrigerator, high in humidifying capacity, sanitized and capable of preserving stored matters without being affected badly by noise and vibration by a method wherein a receiving pan is arranged near the upper part of a compressor and a porous water absorbing body is penetrated through the heat insulating wall of the main body of the refrigerator while the lower end of the porous water absorbing body is inserted into the receiving pan with a gap between the bottom surface of the receiving pan and the lower end of the porous water absorbing body. CONSTITUTION:A receiving pan 17 is arranged near the upper part of a compressor 11 whereby reserved water 21 is heated efficiently by the waste heat of the compressor 11. A porous water absorbing body 22 is penetrated detachably through a heat insulating wall 5. The lower end 25 of the porous water absorbing body 22 is inserted into the receiving pan 17 with a predetermined gap X between the bottom surface of the receiving pan 17 and the lower end 23 of the porous water absorbing body 22. Water, produced by defrosting and reserved in the receiving pan 17, is absorbed into the porous water absorbing body 22 under a heated condition by the compressor 11, and is evaporated and dissipated efficiently into a reserving chamber 4 whereby the temperature of the reserving chamber 4 is increased quickly and, thereafter, the reserving chamber 4 is maintained in a condition near saturated condition by a balance between the humidifying effect of the porous water absorbing body 22 and the dehumidifying effect of an evaporator 13. |
