PURPOSE:To inexpensively, readily and efficiently recover arsenic without eroding a device by bringing an arsenic-containing hydrocarbon into contact with an aqueous solution of water solution sulfide and then separating the resultant water phase. CONSTITUTION:A hydrocarbon of natural gas condensate, etc., containing arsenic is brought into contact with about 0.1-60% aqueous solution of water soluble sulfide, preferably selected from Na2Sx, K2Sx, (NH4)2, NaHS, KHS and (NH4)HS (x is 1-6) and the resultant water phase is separated. The water phase is neutralized with an acid and arsenic is precipitated in a form of As2S3 and arsenic is recovered as a solid sludge. |
