A process is described for marking optical fibres in the course of sheet-like continuous longitudinal advance before inserting them into a protective jacket where an ink jet is continuously projected in a plane intersecting the totality of the fibres, alternately from one outermost fibre to the other.
A device for implementing the process, comprising a head for projecting an ink jet in a plane intersecting the totality of the fibres, moving alternately from one outermost fibre of the sheet to the other.
