A dressing or micro-compress designed to overcome pain and discomfort to anyone suffering from haemorrhoids. The dressing or micro-compress prevents inflammation of the haemorrhoid and allows the sufferer to lead a normal life without discomfort. With a surface area of between 20 and 25 cm<2>, round or square in shape, the dressing consists of two parts, heat-sealed together : the first is a face of paper or cellulose padding (1) (weighing about 20 grammes per m<2>), the second a face of woven gauze made of cotton or linen thread (2). When the dressing is applied, its paper or cellulose padding face becomes adherent due to the absorption of moist particles from the anal walls and sphincter, and the natural pressure of the anal muscle compresses the dressing into a conical position, gauze on gauze, preventing the dressing from slipping. The anal walls and the sphincter in particular, kept dry by the dressing, work in opposition to the pressure of blood in the varicose vein and prevent inflammation of the haemorrhoid. |
