GATHERING METHOD FOR WASTE GAS OF CUPOLA

PURPOSE:To realize an automatic and assured analysis of the waste gas at the top of the furnace for a cupola, by piercing an exhaust gas gathering tube through the inside of a cylindrical member for measurement of depth. CONSTITUTION:A depth measuring cylindrical member 12' of a prescribed length is fitted slidably into a tubular guide member 11 which is attached at a proper part of the side wall at the furnace top of a cupola. A waste gas gathering tube 13' is fixed to the inside of the member 12' as if it protruded by about 10cm from the lower end of the member 12'. The other end of the tube 13' is connected to a waste gas analyze via a rubber hose 18. The analysis is periodically carried out by actuating a rotary oscillator 16, inserting the tube 13' into dissolved material layers 7 and 8 via a chain and wire 14 and leading the waste gas 10' into the waste gas analyzer by means of an sucking means and via the hose 18. In this case, the levels of the layers 7 and 8 are also detected at a time by means of the member 12'.
