摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To reduce the material cost and to increase the Kerr angle of rotation at the same time to enhance the characteristics of a photomagnetic recording medium by laminating a plurality of platinum group metal layers or platinum group metal alloy layers, a plurality of iron group metal layers or iron group metal alloy layers and the light pervious substance layer interposed between both layers or the platinum group metal layers or the platinum group metal alloy layers. CONSTITUTION:A laminated film 5 formed by laminating a platinum layer 2 with a thickness of 17Angstrom , a cobalt layer 3 with a thickness of 5Angstrom and a platinum layer 4 with a thickness of 17Angstrom and a light previous dielectric layer 6 composed of a material such as SiN with a thickness of 100Angstrom are alternately and repeatedly laminated to the surface of a substrate formed from a light pervious material such as glass two or more times and the final layer on the side opposite to the substrate is constituted as the laminated film 5. The thickness of the dielectric layer 6 is set to 100Angstrom because the Co layers 3, 3 adjacent each other are sufficiently separated so as not to generate interfering action therebetween. For example, since the dielectric layer 6 interposed between the layers 2, 4 has light pervious properties at the time of recording and reproduction, a laser beam spot reaches a deep part at the time of recording and reproduction and, corresponding to this, the number of interfaces of the layers 2, 4 and the layers 3 permitting light to transmit increases and the large Kerr angle of rotation is obtained to enhance an S/N ratio and the layers 2, 4 can be respectively made thin and material cost can be reduced.</p>
