PURPOSE:To prevent the erroneous updating of a source program by preserving a history by allowing a source program name to correspond to a source updating history file, referring to it in the case of updating a source, starting a source program editor, executing the updating and reserving the updated information at the appropriate timing. CONSTITUTION:This system is constituted of the source updating history file 1, the source program file 1-1 which is an updating object a source updating management program 2, and a source program editor 3. The histories such as th number of printing, the reason for the updating the items of updating are preserved at a source updating history file 1 by allowing it to correspond to the source program name, and these are referred to in the case of updating the source. At the appropriate timing the source program editor 3 is activated, the updating is executed. and the content of the updating is preserved. Thus, the erroneous updating of the source program can be prevented.
