PURPOSE:To extend the distance of optical transmission dependent upon a plastic fiber from the point of reception by providing a light receiving IC, which receives an optical signal, on the tip end of the plastic fiber extended from a transmitter and driving an IC on the light emission side to allow an LED to emit light. CONSTITUTION:The light receiving element 17 which receives the optical signal is stored in a repeater receptacle and is provided on the tip end of the plastic fiber 16 connected to a receptacle on the light emission side. This optical signal is converted to an electric signal, and the light emitting element (LED) 18 stored in the same repeater receptacle 13 is driven again based on this electric signal. Thus, the LED is allowed to emit the light, and the distance of optical transmission is extended from the point of reception. The distance of optical transmission is extended by this repeater which has the function to drive the LED again by a driver IC based on the electric signal for which the optical signal is converted by the light receiving IC on the tip end of the plastic fiber. |
