PURPOSE:To simply detect the material quality change and flaw of a structural member by making the angle formed by an object to be measured and the arranging surface of the vibrator in a container variable with the change of the amount of the fluid in the container. CONSTITUTION:A probe 2 and a receiver 4 are arranged so as to be separated by the distance of the range 7 executing inspection with respect to the structural member 1 of an object to be measured. The probe 2 is filled with a fluid so that the angular relation between a transmitter 3 and the surface of the structural member 1 becomes variable and the ultrasonic wave transmitted from the transmitter 3 propagates through the fluid at first and subsequently propagates through the structural member 1. As a result, the incident angle of an ultrasonic wave to the structural member 1 in the depth direction thereof and the incident direction thereof in the surface direction of the structural member 1 can be freely set when an ultrasonic wave is incident to the structural member 1 from the probe 2 and, therefore, the presence of the internal flaw of the structural member 1 and the change of the material quality thereof can be scanned within the arranging range of the probe 2 and the receiver 4 without changing the arranging positions of the probe 2 and the receiver 4. |
