PURPOSE:To improve economy and working efficiency, by detecting the position of a shield excavator based on the lengths of wires, which are extended along the facing inner walls of thrusting tubes. CONSTITUTION:Thrusting tubes 21-215 from a shield excavator 1 to a tunnel entrance 3 are separated into the sections of about 10 meters. Wires 9 are extended along the facing inner walls at every section. At the part of the wires 9 on the entrance side of the tunnel, a detector 8 having a pulley 10 and an encoder 11, is provided. The difference in lengths of the wires 9 on both sides is detected. In the straight sections, the lengths of the wires 9 stretched on both inner walls of the thrusting tubes 29-215 are equal. At the curbed sections, however, the pulley 10 is pulled to the side of the excavator until the tension of the wire 9 on the outside become equal to the tension of the wire 9 on the inside. At this time, the rotary encoder detects the amount of rotation of the pulley 10. Based on the difference in lengths of the wires 9, which are stretched on the facing inner walls of the thrusting tubes 21-215, the positions of the respective thrusting tubes 21-215 are obtained. The position of the shield excavator 1 is computed by an operating part. |
