发明名称 CONVERSION CODING SYSTEM
摘要 PURPOSE:To decrease an arithmetic quantity and processing time by discriminating whether or not a succeeding conversion coefficient is to be quantized and coded depending on number of quantization coefficient of consecutive zeros. CONSTITUTION:The system is provided with a zero counter 9, a threshold level setting section 10, a discrimination section 11 comparing the count and a threshold level to discriminate the quantity, an event storage section 12 storing tentatively a non-zero quantization coefficient and an event in pairs with the coefficient, and a code assignment section 13 allocating the code to the event. Then linear conversion is applied to an input signal block, quantization is implemented based on the given order, number of consecutive zero coefficients is counted and sets of non-zero coefficient and number of consecutive zero coefficients counted till the non-null coefficient appears is used as an event and stored tentatively and when number of the consecutive zero coefficients exceeds a threshold level set from the residual data in the transmission buffer, the quantization of the conversion coefficient is stopped and the code is allocated to the stored event. Thus, the arithmetic quantity and processing time are decreased.
