PURPOSE:To prepare the title copolymer having a specified grain size distribution and good handling properties by drying and granulating a slurried or powdered raw material polymer with a dryer having a specific structure. CONSTITUTION:A wet slurried or powdered raw material is introduced from the upper part of a reverse circular cone-shaped vessel 3-4 of a dryer 3-3 which is equipped with a screw 3-5 revolving along the inner wall of the vessel 3-4 and simultaneously revolving on its own axis, and a dried product, i.e., a granular maleic anhydride-methyl vinyl ether copolymer, is discharged from the lower part of the vessel 3-4. The product contains 20% or higher granules with the maximum grain size of 600mum or higher. |
