PURPOSE:To readily obtain a long structural material having a desired shape by bonding plural pieces of tubular formed article obtained by winding a carbon fiber around a winding pattern and impregnating an adhesive thereinto so as to bring into contact with each other in the side face of the longitudinal direction and then cutting the resultant composite in the longitudinal direction of the tubular body. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of tubular formed article obtained by winding a number of carbon fibers 2 around a winding pattern 1 so as to cross each other and impregnating a carbon-based adhesive into the wound pattern are arranged in a row so as to bring into contact with each other in the side face of the longitudinal direction to prepare a composite. Then the composite is cut in the longitudinal direction (e.g. 5, 5) to provide carbon fiber-reinforced carbon structural material having a prescribed pattern such as H pattern (6, 6), U pattern (7, 7) or T pattern. In the above-mentioned method, when the carbon fiber is wound and the adhesive is impregnated into the wound pattern and further the surrounding thereof is wound by a fiber such as aramid fiber 4 whose thermal linear expansion coefficient is negative, the formed article is strongly tightened and a firm structure is obtained. |
