<p>PURPOSE:To attain the application of a touch panel even to a curved surface by identifying the touch area of a transmission member based on the beat frequency of a transmitter/receiver. CONSTITUTION:When a touch is given to a transmission surface 11 with a finger, etc., the leaked surface wave is reflected by a the finger, etc., and sent back into the surface 11. The reflected surface wave is inputted to a CTFM transmitters/receivers 20 and 21. Thus a signal proper to a CTFM system, i.e., a signal of a beat frequency proportional to the distance from a touched position 40 of the finger is obtained. Then a beat signal corresponding to a distance R1 is obtained via the transmitter/receiver 20 together with a beat signal corresponding to a distance R2 obtained via the transmitter/receiver 21 respectively. Then a signal processing circuit 30 obtains both distances R1 and R2 based on the signals of beat frequencies received from both transmitters/ receivers 20 and 21. The position 40 is identified based on the distances R1 and R2. Thus a touch panel can be applied even to a curved surface.</p> |
