PURPOSE:To accomplish range-finding appropriate for photographing circumstances by selecting either a single beam mode or a multi-beam mode so that the range-finding is performed and detecting that a photographer gets in a photographed position, thereby performing a specified shutter releasing action. CONSTITUTION:Either the single beam or the multi-beam mode is selected according to the photographing circumstances in an automatic self mode so as to perform the range-finding. Then, 1st range-finding data AFD stored after performing the range-finding by a range-finding part 16 at the time of starting a sequence where self photographing is performed is compared with 2nd range- finding data obtained by repeatedly performing the range-finding in a fixed cycle thereafter. When the change of the range-finding data is detected, a CPU 10 judges that the photographer gets in the photographed position to start the specified shutter releasing action. Thus, a waiting time is shortened, the range- finding before starting a self-operation is made needless, and the range-finding appropriate for the photographing circumstances is accomplished. |
