A sports car has vertically sliding doors which are closed in their upper position and open when pushed downwards into a space below the door sill. The door is locked on each side in both upper and lower position. A horizontal rod mounted near the sill has a catch at each end. Each catch has two radial slots. One of these slots engages a bolt (5 or 6) attached to the door, to hold the door in the upper position, whilst the other slot, by rotating the rod, engages a bolt (7, 8) to hold the door in the lower position.
