PURPOSE:To read a picture with a higher precision, by storing the background level in a memory and by updating this level. CONSTITUTION:The light from a light source 7 is projected onto a surface 11 to be read, and the reflection light is sensed by a sensor 6 and is applied to a binary circuit 4 and is corrected by the background level stored in a memory 5 and is made binary. When this level is written in the memory 5, only a normally waiting power source is turned on in the facsimile device, and the power source voltage is not applied to the memory 5. When an original detector 9 detects original insertion, the main power source is turned on to light the light source 7, and an original detector 10 feeds the original. After the light source 7 is stabilized after a prescribed time, the background level is stored in the memory 5 to complete the communication preparation. |
