In prior art devices for injecting fuel/gas mixtures, the jet of fuel is injected into the mixture feed lines in a mixer unit as a free jet from the outlet apertures in the fuel-injection valve. Thus there is a danger that fuel mist will form in the mixer unit and a fuel film on the walls of the unit. There is no guarantee that the fuel/gas mixture formed will be as homogeneous as required. The new device proposed, in which the fuel is injected as a directed jet directly from the outlet apertures (15) into the mixture lines (22), has the advantage of precise fuel distribution to the individual mixture lines (22) and the formation of an extremely homogeneous mixture. The gas is fed from a centrally located gas supply line (17), and then through channels (24) into each mixture line (22). The mixture is then fed through mixture-injection lines (26) to the cylinders for injection assemblies of an internal-combustion engine. The device is particularly suitable for internal-combustion engines with externally supplied ignition. |
