A pleasure railway has at least one vehicle (2) which travels on rails (1) arranged in a closed track. The vehicle (2) has a passenger carrier (5) and at least one passenger compartment (6) in which the passengers are accommodated. The rails (1) run in curves arranged in a three-dimensional space. The passenger compartment (6) can move, in particular rotate, relative to the passenger carrier (5). This allows passengers to experience a completely new travelling sensation. The axis of rotation (7) of the passenger compartment (6) is arranged at a distance from the centre of gravity (9) of the passenger compartment, in particular in the direction of motion. The centrifugal force when rounding curves is exploited in order to rotate the passenger compartment (6). The rotary movements of the passenger compartment (6) are a function of the instantaneous speed and the radius and inclination of the curves in the rails (1) which the passenger carrier (5) negotiates when travelling uphill or downhill. The passenger compartment (6) of the invention reduces the hitherto unavoidable lateral impacts and confers a new, heightened sensation of unalloyed pleasure during travelling. |
