The cathode ray tube has a vacuum sealed tube (105) with a video amplifier (50) at the rear. The tube is formed form a back section and a screen section formed along a line (103). COnductive films (2,3) are formed on the inner and outer surfaces. The screen section has a band around the periphery (5) with brackets that allkow fixings to the chassis (10), which is earthed. The band is of metal and is in good contact with the tube periphery. ADVANTAGE - Reduced electromagnetic noise.
