PURPOSE:To improve the program conversion processing efficiency by taking a control sequence program and a sequence instruction out of an input storage means and a sequence instruction conversion means respectively and displaying these program and instruction after converting them into the symbolic sequence circuits. CONSTITUTION:A sequence instruction conversion means 3 decodes a control sequence program which is described in a list form and stored in an input storage means 2. Then the memory areas necessary for conversion are sequentially and dynamically secured out of the idle memory spaces owned by a programming device itself. At the same time, the control sequence program is converted into a sequence instruction having a tree structure approximate to an actual control sequence program. Thus the memory space of the programming device itself is applied with higher efficiency and the convertion processing efficiency is improved. Furthermore the sequence instructions of tree structures stored in the means 3 are successively displayed with search of a 2-split tree by a display means 6 which displays symbolically a sequence circuit. Then, the processing is easily executed.
