A stationary pane (11) for a vehicle body has a frame (13) which is fastened by inserting holding parts (19) fixed to one side of the frame into associated recesses (41) on the vehicle body and then pivoting the frame into its mounted position. The side of the frame (13) located on the side opposite the swivelling axis is fastened to the vehicle body by means of fastening elements. Preferably the pane (11), together with the frame (13), forms a rear side window which is attached to a side door. The side of the frame (13) which is screwed or riveted to the vehicle body is attached to the side door in such a manner that, when the side door is open, the fastening elements are accessible.
